Services & Supports

Host Family Homes

Host Family Home Providers, support a person with an intellectual disability (18 years of age and over) to live in their home in a manner that mirrors the concept of a natural family. This involves creating an environment that prioritizes warmth, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.

Careful planning and consideration go into matching the person based upon interests, compatibility and location. This type of supported living arrangement promotes person-centred care and enhances social inclusion within the community.

Community Living Belleville and Area provide Home Providers with financial remuneration, training and ongoing support.

Associate Family Homes

CLBA provides opportunities for individuals, families and/or couples to open their home to a child with an intellectual disability. This type of supportive living arrangement creates an inclusive environment where the child becomes an integral part of the family and supports are tailored to meet the child’s specific developmental needs.

Associate Family Home Providers work collaboratively with all professionals involved in the child’s care, such as therapists, educators and healthcare providers. This ensures a comprehensive and coordinated approach to support, enabling the child to grow and thrive!

Community Living Belleville and Area provides Home Providers with financial remunerations, training and ongoing support.

Transition To A Home Of Our Own

Transition to a Home of Our Own supports people who are 18 or older and who live with an intellectual disability. The purpose of this service is for people to gain the skills and experiences needed to live as independently as possible.

Participants stay in a local community apartment, treating it as their own space while safely exploring independent living. With guidance from a Coordinator and Direct Support Staff, they set personal goals and learn essential life skills through hands-on experience. The Coordinator provides close support, teaching daily living activities and assessing progress. The Manager oversees the coordination of this service.

At the end of the program, participants and their families receive an objective report outlining the supports needed for a safe and successful transition to independent living. A personalized experiential stay schedule is developed to maximize learning and meet personal needs.

Applicants can purchase this service through Passport Funding. Those interested who do not have a lead agency can contact Community Living Belleville to request an application. For more information, please contact: info@clbelleville.ca

Annual Complex Respite

Annual Complex Respite offers families respite for their child who lives with a Developmental Disability, Medical/Physical Diagnosis, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder, or Autism Spectrum Disorder, and is under the age of 18 years. This service is offered in collaboration with the Hasting Prince Edward Children’s Respite Committee.

Once a month on a rotational basis, children/youth arrive for group respite (2-5 youth per weekend) on Friday, and stay overnight until Sunday afternoon. During the weekend children and youth engage in positive social interactions, community activities, follow daily routines, and reach towards meeting individualized goals. Due to the nature of Group respite and the high needs of vulnerable youth, criteria for service would be for children/youth who are able to safely manage and participate in a group environment.

This service provides supports at one of the community homes in Belleville only and is not offered in home. For more information, please contact: info@clbelleville.ca

Child and Youth Respite

CLBA provides around-the-clock care to children in a safe environment where the focus is on providing quality supports based upon the needs of the child. For example, respite could be after school, school holidays, evenings, weekends, or early mornings. Staff work with children and their families and plan for needs, goals and priorities to make sure that the respite time for children is fun and exciting and that provides a much-needed break for parents.

We match support staff with children and their families so that families can feel confident that their child or youth is well looked after and is participating in activities that are fun and geared to the needs and desires of the child or youth.

This support is provided in and out of the family's home. For more information, please contact: info@clbelleville.ca
